I have a twin size boxspring that I am planning to use as a day bed. I want the boxspring to be slightly off ground and will be using futon or foam padding as layering on top. I need to know how/what to I do with the boxspring to achive this.

You can put it directly on the ground, or lay down a few pieces of lumber perpendicularly to the length of the bed to keep it off the ground and make it look a bit more finished and less "first-apartment-out-of-college." I would put one 2x4 plank every 16 inches.

"We'll, I've got this mattress problem," I explained to the 50ish biker type with a bandana on his head. He waited before me at the Walmart checkout line in Oceanside.

"No ---- I mean ---- I just bought this box spring, and I need to tie it down to the top of my Suburban. You know, to get it home." The tattooed man just stared at me.

"Just five minutes ago, the guy at the mattress place sent me here to buy some rope, but the Walmart sales person told me to buy these bungee cords instead." I held up my prospective purchase. "I just have a bad feeling about them. And you look like you would know how to fix anything. What do you think I need to buy?"

Amusement lit up the man's eyes, and he started chuckling as he looked at the bungee cords dangling in my hands.

"Take them back," he said. "They won't even fit across your hood." Then he meticulously showed me how much rope to buy. I thanked him and raced back to switch out the bungee cords.

Bought the mattress and boxspring because I was going to live with my brother but he ended up moving abroad. It’s a queen size mattress and spring (78.7” in length x 59.1” in width.)

The boxspring is still in plastic wrap and the mattress is in brand new shape as well.

 

The brand is Symbol Mattress (Royal Chiro Series – Supreme.) See the tag in the photos below please.

My home is smoke and pet-free. Selling the set for $200.
