Forearm forklift helped in a jam
Not to long ago I moved into a new home. I used the forearm forklift many times. I found it was ideal for moving big items, for example my 65" projection tv, which weighs roughly 350lbs. Without the forearm forklift it took 4 men to move, with the forearm forklift it took 2! The only... -
Lived up to the hype - cool product.
I try to filter out the hype that sometimes ends up in reviews on this site - but the reviews on this product seemed to have a bit of truth to them so I ordered them. I am very impressed; these really do help out.One of the biggest challenges I often have when working around the house is moving...

I am particularly looking to buy a dining room set - just wondering about the quality of their furniture. The set I am looking at is almost as expensive as furniture in a regular store - I am just concerned about the durability and quality.
Target furniture seems nice to look at, but if you are concerned about quality and durability.....take your time......maybe by items from thrift shops.....they usually have very good quality items....that just need a little care.....
i think it was around $30. i can't find it online today but it looked really neat. i was just wondering how it was in person regarding sturdiness, mainly. the picture showed two cats on it.
i have searched online but i can't remember what...
Sorry, I can't help you either! I saw it when I was at Target, and I would have bought it if I had room in the house.
My opinion is for $30 you can't go too far wrong; even if it only lasts a few months it's worth it if your cats enjoy it!

Tufting takes interiors to a luxurious level
Need a little luxury in your living room? Button up boring by adding a piece of tufted furniture to your existing décor.

“Tufting is a sign of luxury in a piece,” says Linda Lane, interior designer for Jessica Charles furniture. “It can be playful and serious.”

Around for more than 100 years, the tufted look is created by pulling thread through various spots of fabric to create tufts or bunches of fabric between the threaded areas. The threads are often secured with a button or knot. Tufting can be used to create a design or pattern on the piece as well.

Along with America’s love affair with all things Hollywood, the luxury look has grown in popularity, Lane says.

“I watch old Hollywood movies for ideas,” Lane says. “What’s old is new again.” She acknowledges that tufted furniture often costs more than its clumpless counterparts, but she says that the extra craftsmanship is worth it.

“Tufting feels good and adds plushness to the piece. There is an added cost because of the higher labor,” says Lane, whose inspiration comes from cross-country stops.

“I troll around vintage stores any state I’m in,” she says. She scouts Lane designs that can withstand the test of time: “A chair that’s old and fragile … can be reconstructed with modern production.”

Bonyen Lee has the same idea, minus a staff and production team. The TV reporter combs Craigslist ads for unusual furniture that can be painted and reupholstered.

“My budget forced me to figure this out,” Lee says of her upholstery hobby. “I’ve found that there’s a huge population of people who want unique furniture but can’t afford it.”

Lee and her handy husband own BonDrew Designs, which specializes in remodeling. Lee is ready to add upholstery to the mix, including a little tufting.

Tufted furniture was at the top of Erin Thompson’s wish list last summer when she moved to her Roeland Park home and was looking to add a little flair.

“I like sleek lines but kind of embellished,” she says. “Design magazines gave me the idea.”

RESOURCES
•Hancock & Moore: www.hancockandmoore.com

•HSN:www.hsn.com

•Jessica Charles:www.jessicacharles.com (sold locally at Madden-McFarland Interiors, 913-681-2821, www.maddenmcfarland.com)

•Nebraska Furniture Mart: 1601 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., 913-288-6200, www.nfm.com

•Target:www.target.

Like most fashionistas, Lolitas are more likely to spend their money on clothes and accessories than they are on furniture, but the harsh truth is, everyone needs a place to sleep. Economic furniture is really attractive to the Lolita, but milk crate furniture simply won’t do for the the discerning Lolita. Target offers some good Victorian-esque furniture options at prices that are wallet-friendly.
